Drainage rehabilitation in Zone A has now been completed as part of Mile 12's dry-season infrastructure maintenance plan.
The project focused on desilting blocked channels, reinforcing runoff paths, and improving surface flow in high-footfall produce corridors. Traders and buyers can expect better movement conditions during rainfall and reduced water pooling around loading points.
The work was coordinated between market management, sanitation contractors, and zone trader representatives. Additional routine cleaning cycles are already scheduled to preserve the improvements throughout the rainy months.
Management has also urged traders to maintain compliance with disposal guidelines to protect the drainage network and keep produce corridors accessible.
